RS Zest

Overview:
The RS Zest is compact enough to sail as a single hander or spacious enough for a double hander. Designed by Jo Richard and RS Sailing in 2018. Perfect all round boat for adults and kids.
Ability: Level 2 or Stage 3 certificate or equivalent experience.
Capacity: 1-3 sailors

420

Overview:
The 420 boat has a great seaworthiness hull and very stable even at speed. Ideally to be sailed as a double hander, however it is big enough to fit a small family or up 3 adults. Built by Christian Maury in 1959.
Ability: Level 2 certificate or equivalent experience.
Capacity: 2-3 sailors

The Laser

Overview:
Enjoy sailing the Sound in the Laser built with emphasis on simplicity and performance designed by Bruce Kirby in 1970’s. This is popular one design sailing dinghy for single handers and is one of the most sought after classes in history. This craft has become so popular due to it being robust and simple to rig and sail. The Laser is a perfect boat to practise and improve your skills.

29er

Overview:
Experience the Sound in a 29er designed by Julian Bethwaite. First produced in 1998 as a double handed high performance sailing skiff. The sleek and hydrodynamic hull shape allows you to reach high speed quickly and will often exceed the wind speed when planing both upwind and downwind.

RS Aero

Overview:
Take to the Sound in the RS Aero designed by Jo Richard in 2014. The RS Aero provides all round performance while keeping rigging and set up simple. This single hander boat is a modern version to The Laser showing similar characteristics. Enjoy sailing this RS Aero for perfecting your techniques and boat handing skills.

Foiling The Laser

Overview:
Transfer the conventionally sailed Laser into a foiling machine, be on the water in no time as the foiling kit is simple and easy to attached. Ideally 10-12 knots of wind should see you foiling.
Ability: Attended a RYA First Flight Course or equivalent experience.
Capacity: 1 sailor

Foiling The RS Aero

Overview:
Experience the thrill to foiling in the RS Aero a modern lightweight dinghy. You should find it light, easy to balance, rig and handle making it the perfect boat to practise you foiling training

Foiling The Waszp

Overview:
The Waszp has been created with a stable platform allowing it to be sailed fast. We saw The Waszp put into production in June 2016 by designer Andrew McDougall. Enjoy the Sound with this easy set up and simple control system and layout.
Ability: Attended a RYA First Flight Course or equivalent experience.
Capacity: 1 sailor

Beginner Windsurf Kit

Overview:
Enjoy the beginner training kit to windsurf the Sound, practising your tacking, gybing and stance on a bigger litre board.

Advance Windsurf Kit

Overview:
Hook in and start planing on the advance kit.
Ability: RYA Start Windsurf Certificate or equivalence experience.

Stand up Paddleboard

Overview:
Stand up Paddle boarding (SUP), is using a paddle while standing on a floating platform to propel oneself. This method traces back many years ago across a variety of continents however it's current form and popularity originated in Hawaii in the 1900s.
Ability: Confidence around the water
Capacity: 1 person

Rowing Boat

Overview:
The RS Zest also allows us to transform from a well respected sailing dinghy into a rowing boat! Set your sights on the Sound in this relaxed environment and enjoy rowing around!
Ability: none
Capacity: 1 rower with upto 2 passengers

Rental Rules

Rentals Rules 
  • Rental area is Area A unless agreed with Chief Instructor 

  • Personal Buoyancy Aids must be worn at all time
  • Any damage must be reported to the Chief Instructor at the time of returning your rental. 
Please note: when renting kit from USail Bermuda, you are welcome to use our shower and toilet/changing facilities.
